POSTDOC FELLOWSHIP IN GERMANY

The Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) University of Mannheim offers a Postdoc Fellowship (up to 5 years) for Sociologists in Research Area “European Societies and their Integration”.

The MZES is an interdisciplinary research institute of the University of Mannheim, dedicated to comparative European social research and the analysis of European integration processes. The CHE Rankings of sociology over the last years and the German Science Council (Wissenschaftsrat) research rating of sociology  ranked the University of Mannheim as the top.

The Centre seeks to recruit an outstanding social scientist with a Ph.D. (or equivalent) to establish a new research group in one of the research clusters of Department A European Societies and their Integration.

An excellent dissertation and publications in international scientific journals are expected. Experience in project management would be appreciated.

The salary is based on the German public sector scale up to TV-L 15 (approximately 42,000-58,000 Euros gross annual salary) for 3 years as a start with an option of additional 2 years’ employment depending on experience and qualifications as well as fulfilling the legal requirements for a fixed-term contract.
