A doctoral studentship is now available in economics with a focus on public transport. The doctoral programme is offered in conjunction with rebro University, at which the doctoral student will be enrolled in economics, while employed and active at Karlstad university.
The dissertation project will involve an evaluation of public transport services and its implications for organisation, development, planning and financing.
Eligibility and requirements: Candidates must meet the requirements for general and special eligibility. The general eligibility requirement is completed education at Bachelor and Master levels, totalling 240 higher education credits, including at least 60 higher education credits at Master's level, or equivalent qualifications. The special eligibility requirement is that the previous degree qualifications include at least 120 higher education credits in economics. Special consideration will be given to the candidate whose field of interest coincides with the specified area of the position and the established profile areas of the public transport research at Samot (see www.samot.kau.se). Good command of Swedish and English is a requirement.
Admission: Candidates are assessed individually and admission is based on their capacity to successfully complete the programme. The successful candidate is expected to start as soon as possible at Karlstad University. The doctoral student employment has a four-year time limit with possible prolongation up till one year if duties have included other research, teaching or administration (must not exceed 20% of full time).
