The University of Luxembourg is looking for the Faculty of Science and Engineering an Early stage researcher (PhD-Student) in Geo-Engineering (M/F).
Profile:
- Master-degree in Civil Engineering, Geophysics or an equivalent engineer degree
- Profound Knowledge in Geo-Engineering / Soil and Rock Mechanics
- Language: High level of English; German and/or French will be a plus
- Basic competence in Finite Element Modelling will be a plus
- Basic competence in geotechnical lab experiments will be a plus
- Willingness to inscribe as PhD-student at UL

The PhD-student will work under the guidance of a professor on a research theme (English) but will also assist in teaching (German / English) to a certain extent. She / he should finish the work with a doctoral degree in engineering science. The candidate will have to choose one out of the following two themes and motivate this choice in his/her application letter.
