Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Fellowship position to work on research projects on information extraction from textual data at the University of Alberta, Canada. The Alberta Innovates Centre of Machine Learning [AICML], will be making a two year appointment for an energetic capable and responsible Post Doctoral Fellow, to work with us in Edmonton on a variety of information extraction projects.
The successful candidate will take over the project management task from a previous pdf, whose goal was information extraction from medical records, and be left with ample time to continue their own scientific research within the research infrastructure of AICML, and the natural language processing group within the department of computing science.

The ideal candidate will have recently complete a Ph.D. in computer science in the areas information extraction, natural language processing or related fields, and have demonstrated the ability to conduct both fundamental and applied work in these areas and have a strong background in one or more of these following subjects: machine learning, text mining, artificial intelligence, data mining, databases.
This
position is available immediately, for up to 2 years (possible
extension of one more year, for a total of 3 years). The salary is
