SUMMER UNIVERSITY ON ROMANIAN CULTURE AND CIVILIZATION

Nice people, 4 wonderful locations, interesting classes and a lot of PARTIES: this is our magic recipe for our SU Iasi 2006! And as a bonus, you'll be invited to an original orientation contest, aimed to make you discover the beauties of our city step by step, and the best team will win... SURPRISE, it's a well kept secret, that even we don't know for the moment:)! Our classes will focus more on the human side of our civilization, especially human rights during the communist regime, but also hot topics of today as racial discrimination. But, don't get too serious: the "human geography" can be more interesting than you can imagine right now! And it's time to add more to this picture: wonderful sight seeing in the old city of Iasi(the cultural capital of Romania), getting in touch with the ancient myth of Vlad the Impaller (a.k.a. Dracula from Transylvania), a time leap into the thrilling atmosphere of Sighisoara,the medieval castle learning the secrets of tortures (but not too much: you might like them...!) Does this picture suit you? We want to know, because it definitely suits us, as an organizing team! So, don't hesitate: mark the SU Iasi. 2006 as your first/best option for this summer!. You'll get the chance to learn more about our language, our traditions by learning of our skilled staff (university teachers), but also by doing a lot of sightseeing in five Romanian locations: 1. IASI (the 2nd university center in Romania), 2. BRASOV 3. SIGHISOARA, the oldest inhabited city-fortress in Europe 4. BRAN, famous for the Dracula's Castle in its proximities 5. SINAIA, with the Peles Castle - the former royal residence
