The Programme,
European Citizenship, action 2 measure 3, is supporting an exciting partnership venture including Bridges Project (Scotland), IB Youth Hostel (Stuttgart, Germany) and the main organiser, Pointes Jeunes (Exreux, France). A series of 3 seminars will be held over the next two semesters to explore the possibilities of establishing an effective network of active youth work projects who wish to develop quality exchanges, training, EVS etc. The network idea is based on the long experience of
European Project work between IB and Pointe Jeunes who have worked on over 100 bi-lateral and multi-lateral youth projects together.
Seminar 1 will be held between 20 and 23 November in Evreux, France. The key themes which will be explored at this seminar include:
* How to establish the principles of an effective and working partnership and network
* Opportunities within the
European arena for the exchange of young people, good practice
*Discussions on Citizenship, Europe's role within global cultureetc
* An examination of the principles and practice which underpin the very successful French/German partnership
*Deciding the key themes and tools which will drive an effective network and the methods of communication to support such a network, eg evaluation and standards which are required to have a trusting partnership, web based communication tools etc
Seminars 2 and 3 will be held near Edinburgh and in Stuttgart before next Summer. They will focus on realising the partnerships and network and include developing the frameworks for the network including agreeing the set of quality standards, minimum required training and competencies for youth workers involved in
European youth and citizenship work, evaluation tools and full partnership agreements.
We can pay the cost of food and accommodation for the three seminars.
Unfortunately, we would need to discuss any difficulties you may have for transport costs which are NOT included in the seminar budgets.
If you are interested in attending any or all of the seminars, please contact the co-ordinator, Patrick Buquet for the first seminar, urgently.
If you have difficulties reaching him, you can contact Juergen Baur or Jim Boyle.
