Bridge over troubled water serbanescu mihaela

“Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe”, Abraham Lincoln once said. I reckon that this quote would best describe the beginning of my journey to reach the goals I have aimed at, to achieve the highest of my expectations and thus, to discover the very essence of my dreams while transforming them into sheer reality. Nevertheless, I know that values such as perseverance, reason, patience and confidence are required in order to succeed, which leads me to the question whether or not these qualities will persist during the challenges that lie ahead. And the answer is “Yes, they will!” and this is the result of years of studying, of pondering upon my future and finally deciding.
Management and economy represent, from my point of view, some of the future’s options for maintaining the society in balance and for developing into a better world. I consider that choosing a career in this domain would mean to adapt to the near future, since such an approach would allow me to gain the proficiency needed to accomplish my expectations. Adaptation should be a universally human characteristic as it is a chronologically specific feature which we encounter in early childhood. Beginning with the first pace or word uttered, continuing with walking, clearly talking by connecting sentences, playing with other children, we try to become accustomed to our daily life, to this world and society. Hence, this phenomenon does not stop in our childhood: it augments during adolescence, guiding us towards maturity. As far as I can recall, my formative years would be associated with an unquenchable curiosity, with the desire of getting in competitions and trying to be the best, and I have tried to emulate these particularities and use them in my day to day activities; I was editor in our school's English Language Magazine, Cathcer, where, as a team, we effectively combined our ideas and communication skills to become successful.
“I defy the old dragon, I defy fear as well! Rage, World, and spring to attack: I shall stand here and sing in secure peace.” wrote John Franck in one of his poems. I find myself in his lyrics as I have learnt that not every defeat means failure, but a chance to become better: even if I did not always succeed to be the first or the best, I believe that being shown that I could be wrong and discovering new challenges changed my perspectives and developed a way to be flexible and inventive in different situations. I began enjoying reading since primary school- one of the reason I have chosen an intensive English class in high school- starting with uncomplicated, national literature and later finding pleasure in detective books, such as Agatha Christie’s, John D. MacDonald's or Candace M. Robb’s.
During high school, I have joined a Volunteer Club, which I consider to be a useful way to spend my free time; I am also a member of our local library’s Working Workshop, guided by a member of Habitat for Humanity, Melissa Culkin; also, I have had the opportunity to meet new people and participate in dynamic activities, such as taking part in essay presentations or finding out more about the English culture and civilization by joining American Corner. I ponder that studying at your university would be an opportunity to widen my knowledge and also the best opportunity for me to specialize in my chosen subject, economy. Earnestness, determination and success should be the words that give me a fresh impetus to remain certain that United Kingdom is the milieu I imagine myself developing, and having as models some previous students, I confidently anticipate I will be able to triumph over.
Even if one may have mixed feelings and opinions about going through major transitions, I consider that the impact of those transformations would be, simply, the results of my work connected with the evolution of society-a bridge over troubled water, as Simon and Garfunkel say in their song-. Furthermore, change is my individual approach to develop into a mature person and, in conclusion, it is a highly personal bringing together of the psychological, the formal and the physical strength.
