The curriculum focuses on the historical roots of political processes, explores how can democratic institutions and practices be generated, challenged and sustained, recognizes and copes with the particular features of the area, yet studying them in a wide comparative perspective. The program has been designated a political science resource by the Academic Fellowship Program within the Higher Education Support Program of the Open Society Institute. From 2010-2011 on, the Comparative Politics Master is integrated in an international program organized jointly by the University of Bucharest, the Universite Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium) and the University of Wroclaw (Poland)
