Turku Centre for Computer Science (TUCS) is the coordinating organization of research and education of Information and Communication Systems (ICT) in the Turku region. TUCS is a joint special unit of the University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University and Turun ammattikorkeakoulu.
TUCS coordinates research, education and other interaction within the society, in the field of Information Technology. These activities are carried out in the TUCS Master's and Graduate Programmes, and TUCS Research Centres, with a wide international focus. In Bachelor education the focus is national, where tuition is provided in Finnish by University of Turku, in Swedish by Åbo Akademi University and in English by Turun ammattikorkeakoulu.
At the departments participating in TUCS there are presently about 35 professors, 65 Ph.D. level researchers, 100 doctoral students and 2000 Master's students.
