THE KYRGYZ STATE UNIVERSITY OF CONSTRUCTION, TRANSPORTATION AND ARCHITECTURE

The Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transportation and Architecture (KSUCTA) has been training specialists in a wide range of fields for more than 50 years. The university is one of the largest in Kyrgyzstan with about 9,000 students. The university academic programs lead to the award of Bachelor, Diploma of Higher Education, Master of Engineering, Master of Science degrees, and to the award of degrees Candidate of Technical Sciences (Ph. D.) and Doctor of Technical Sciences. The academic staff comprises 452 specialists, including 34 Doctors of Sciences, 117 Candidates of Technical Sciences (Ph.D.), 10 Academicians, 16 Honored Workers of Education, Science and Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic. Areas of research excellence extend from Engineering, Architecture, Information Technologies, and Ecology to the Humanities and Social Sciences. All staff are encouraged in research and many are recognized as leaders in their fields. The distinguishing feature of the teaching process in the university is a constant search for new ways of improvement of skilled specialists’ training, intensification of teaching, integration of theoretical and practical skills. KSUCTA is a member of the International Association of Construction High Schools, International Association of Architectural Schools, and European Union of Architectural Schools. The university has established a close cooperation with a number of foreign educational institutions and is actively working in establishing of new contacts, as well as looking for new forms of cooperation. Today the university is taking an active role in the promotion of technological change and its management for sustainable development through high level of education and research. KSUCTA graduates have established distinguished careers in all sectors of society in Kyrgyzstan and throughout the world. Presently KSUCTA includes 8 institutes and 4 colleges.
