The Academy's mission is to provide each student with a study process and
environment which would favour the development of high professional competence and the ability to set and achieve goals in life, to form a creative, free, enterprising, responsible, independent individual capable of finding his/her identity under the changeable conditions and competing successfully on the labour market.
Moreover, each graduate of the teacher training study programme will be able to create a learning environment at school where the pupil can achieve his/her natural potential and reveal his/her individuality, learns to take control of his/ her life, acquires the skill to be an efficient and happy person.
Our students learn to know, learn to do, learn to live together, learn to be. That is what the pupils of our graduates will learn.
CONCEPTION
RTTEMA prepares a teacher who is able to prepare pupils for life and work in information society. The conceptual cornerstones of RTTEMA study process are intelligence, competence and proficiency.
Each study programme enables the students to cultivate the necessary professional competencies.
In RTTEMA's vision teacher's proficiency is the skill to carry out high - quality work observing moral and ethical standards based on deep awareness of one's mission, high intelligence, confidence, love of work, experience and continuous self - perfection.
HISTORY
RTTEMA is conceptually and technically modern professional higher educational institution founded by the state.
It started its work in 1994 with 1273 students and now is one of the largest higher educational institutions in Latvia in terms of the number of students.
