  • Programme Description This degree allows students to study a wide range of subjects, while specialising in one or two areas. Science graduates are employed in research, business, industry, education, environmental, health and central and local government organisations. All Geology students begin by taking two core geology courses: GEOL 111 Planet Earth: An Introduction to Geology and GEOL 112 Understanding Earth History. Most students begin taking the geology core courses during their first year at Canterbury, but students who discover an interest in geology later can also take the core courses during their second year.One optional first year geology courses are also offered for students interested in these particular topics: GEOL 113 Environmental Geohazards.
