    Programme Description

    The Masters in Aquaculture and Fisheries is a two year degree (4semesters), with a total of 120 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) of course work. A total of 15 modules or courses are taken over two and a half semesters (75 ECTS). The second half of the third semester and the fourth semester are dedicated to the thesis (45 ECTS). All students must take four core modules: Legislation,Statistical analysis,Techniques in Molecular and Cellular Biology,Transformation of Aquatic Products as well as seven specialised courses and four optional courses. Optional courses can be selected from other Masters of the University of the Algarve (e.g. Marine Biology, Oceanography, Ecology, Marine Biodiversity and Conservation).
