    Programme Description

    We are part of the School of Marine Science and Technology. Our research in marine science ranges from molecular and cellular processes of marine organisms to large-scale ecosystem responses to global changes and the chemical processes driving them. Our programmes have a multidisciplinary approach encompassing molecular techniques, field based studies and modelling projects to ensure that our postgraduates are well qualified for professional careers.

    Aquaculture is the commercial farming of freshwater and saltwater animals and plants. This programme is designed to prepare you for a career in this dynamic, expanding sector. Topics covered include: food production and marketing; environmental monitoring and control; planning and legislation; business start-up and entrepreneurship.

    The course team consists of academics, industry experts, marine scientists, technologists and managers. Together, they deliver a range of taught modules (120 credits) that cover topics including: food production and marketing; environmental monitoring and control; planning and legislation; business start-up and entrepreneurship.
