    The ArtEZ Fashion Masters is one of the first-rate and best-known Master courses in Europe.
    We offer two masters: Master Fashion Design (previously known as Fashion Institute Arnhem) and the Master Fashion Strategy (previously known as Fashion, Design & Strategy). These are fulltime, two-year curriculums with English as language of instruction. Together they cover the fashion sector in a comprehensive way.

    Students in the Master Fashion Design may specialise in Fashion Design and Shoe Design. Within the Master Fashion Strategy students can focus on different topics such as: futurising, fashion journalism and fashion curation.

    Both master courses are designed for ambitious and talented students with a relevant bachelor degree. The curriculum stimulates students to develop a creative and passionate involvement, which is crucial to any successful career in the international field of fashion. We thereby concentrate on providing supervision to our future fashion professionals. Our students develop personal views on fashion as a significant cultural phenomenon in both creative and theoretical ways, and they are also able to communicate their views. In their coursework, students have ample opportunity to develop their own signature and build a coherent and convincing portfolio and network. This will allow them to position themselves strategically in the international fashion industry.


    The Master Fashion Strategy educates students to become professionals who have knowledge of the context and meaning of fashion as a cultural phenomenon. Students learn how to develop and communicate a personal vision and research-based concepts, which are relevant to the fashion industry and which also capture the spirit of times.

    The curriculum consists of lectures, excursions, workshops, collaborative projects, exchange programmes and independent study activities. Starting from both theory and practice, students explore influences of innovative and creative elements on the fashion industry. The primary focus is on the development of a personal strategic vision.

    In the first semester students enrol in modules related to the discipline of fashion strategy. During the second semester, students concentrate on their chosen topic of interest. The second year will be devoted to the students graduation project. During the entire curriculum, students receive personal supervision from a team of experienced professionals.

    Within this Master course students may emphasise a particular theme or subject such as Branded Design, Futurising, Fashion Journalism and Fashion Curation. It is also possible to choose a different subject within the broad field of fashion strategy.
