    Programme Description

Forensic Computing is a dynamic area of criminal investigation, with new tools, techniques and methods regularly becoming available to both investigators and the investigated. The MSc, PGDip and PGCert courses aim to meet these forensic computing needs.

The courses, aimed at the practitioners in this rapidly developing discipline are taught both by Cranfield University lecturers and by external consultants. Many of these are world leaders in their field, who understand the problems of translating theory into practice.

The PGCert aims to educate and prepare students to provide effective support as Analysts, within the forensic computing community for the recovery of digital evidence. The PGDip and MSc courses deepen and extend this knowledge preparing students to present clear, concise technical evidence, and where necessary, in courts of law.

The majority of students will be sponsored by their employers and continue to work for them on completion of the MSc, perhaps at a more senior level. The courses are in the main designed for Law Enforcement officers, government staff, accountancy and banking organisations, corporate security personnel and members of associated agencies in both the UK and elsewhere.
