    Programme Description

The course has been developed specifically for those teaching history and for those in supporting roles, e.g. school advisers, educational consultants and administrators. The intercultural approach can be adapted to any national or international context of history education, and we have had students from all five continents.

You will learn from your fellow students and personal tutor, and gain the confidence to put your new ideas into practice. You will need access to a school or educational setting in order to undertake some of the tasks from the course and evaluate practice.

    The course will:

    * focus on contemporary national and international issues in history
    * help you gain a broad understanding of issues that impact on the teaching of history
    * engage critically with the best and most relevant thinking and research, and applying what you learn to your own working environment
    * enable you to learn from your tutor and fellow students and apply what you learn to your own working environment
