  • Programme Description

    Clean Coal  Technologies (CleanCoal) is a joint programme run by five European universities involved in the framework of European Insitute of Innovation Technology (EiT) and InnoEnergy Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) aiming at finding and promoting innovative solutions in the field of  sustainable production and use of energy.

    The universities cooperating in the programme are: AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) in Kraków, Poland, Silesian University of Technology (SUT) in Gliwice, Poland, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden, Instituto Superior Tecnico (IST) in Lisbon, Portugal and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Karlsruhe, Germany.

    The programme primarily focuses on technologies that lead to efficient thermal and chemical conversion of coal with reduced pollutant emissions to air, water and land  at all levels and stages of the operation. Additionally, strong emphasis in the scope of the programme  is put on the understanding, application and integration of chemical fuels and renewables so that the power system is eco-friendly, sustainable and of high efficiency. The CleanCoal programme aims at fostering thinking about global responsibilities and sustainable development for all.

    CleanCoal is a two-year Master programme with double-degree and a careful subject selection. It offers a multi-disciplinary education resulting in innovative solutions based on the current and ongoing, already established, master programmes in mechanical engineering, energy engineering and management, chemical engineering/technology,  environmental engineering, communication and law. The CCT MSc programme content is chosen in order to fulfill both scientific and practical objectives.

    The programme is an attractive proposal for the best students from around the globe.
