This course offers the chance to explore the field geology of Catalonia through the study of emblematic sites located in Barcelona and the surrounding region. A basic knowledge of general geology is recommended, although it is not a requirement. The course is addressed to students and adult learners interested in geology and is led by professors from the UB%E2%80%99s Faculty of Geology with many years of experience. The course schedule comprises three field trips, to Montserrat, Tibidabo-Collserola (Barcelona) and the Garrotxa volcanic field. During the course, students will be introduced to different geological disciplines and processes such as sedimentology, volcanism, metamorphism, structural analysis and geomorphology.
