Achieving Academic Excellence is an intensive academic communication programme. In one week, you will learn to understand your personal communication style and qualities, and will master three fundamental communication skills: presenting with impact, how to excel with your writing and building international networks. These skills will enable you to give yourself a tremendous boost both now %E2%80" while you%E2%80%99re studying or doing your research %E2%80" and in the future.Presenting with ImpactWhat are your unique talents? What makes you stand out from the others? During this week we%E2%80%99ll give you tips for profiling and presenting yourself more successfully. You will discover your inherent qualities and will learn how to communicate and use them to your advantage in a well thought-out manner, whilst still remaining true to yourself.How to excel with your writingYou will learn a writing approach which will allow for excellent writing by means of practical assignments focusing on elements of a research paper. These exercises will teach you to understand the qualities of excellent writing, adopt winning writing strategies and practice their skills.Building International networksIt's not WHAT you know but WHO you know. An extensive and probably international network %E2%80" in real life and online %E2%80" is indispensable if you want to achieve your ambitions. Wherever you are in the world, you will want to establish new relationships and maintain existing ones. We prepare you for building up your network, telling your story in English, adding to your vocabulary and boosting your confidence!Dates and timesThe programme consists of five days of 2 x 3 hours: 9:00 %E2%80" 12:00 and 13:00- 16:00. Target group
This course is designed for master's students and young researchers who wish to improve their Academic communication skills within a short time.English at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference. There is no additional entry level.
Course aim
After this course you will:understand your academic communication style and abilities and will know how to use them to your advantage. be able to present yourself in a personal, powerful and up-to-date manner know how to strategically write excellent academic papers know how to build international networks that might benefit you now and in the future
