This course is related to the Carsulae Roman Baths Excavation and students taking this course can also participate to the Carsuale excavations. There is a two-week overlap between the two programs. In the last two weeks of the ceramics course, students doing both programs will be required to attend some of the introductory lectures and meetings for the excavation.

Course aim
The course aims to give basic theoretical knowledge of the field of conservation of pottery and archaeological ceramics. These classes will introduce students to the nature of the ceramic materials, fabrication processes and their evolution over time and with various methods for analyzing, conserving and documenting archaeological ceramics.The program consists of lectures and theory classes in the morning with afternoons spent in the workshop or field projects, working on original archaeological finds.
