The summer school of archaeology in Abruzzo is an academic programme offered byUniversity of Pisa in collaboration with Soprintendenza per I Beni Archeologici dell%E2%80%99Abruzzo.Students will receive intensive cross-disciplinary training including lectures, site visits and participation to excavation activities and laboratory. This programme will allow to students to develop the basic framework of knowledge and skills for their future professional work in archaeology.Lectures and laboratory activities will be led at the Archaeological Museum of Celano-Paludi (Celano, L%E2%80%99Aquila).The field activity will be carried out in two different archaeological sites of Abruzzo region: the neolithic settlement of Santo Stefano (Ortucchio, L%E2%80%99Aquila) and the roman city of Alba Fucens (Massa d%E2%80%99Albe, L%E2%80%99Aquila).

Target group
Our programme is principally orientated towards those wishing to supplement academic studies on archaeology like undergraduate, graduate students and faculty members. Nevertheless the school welcomes to a limited number of interested adults.

Course aim
The aim of this programme is to increase awareness and competencies about archaeological and methodological issue. The school will provide all participant a deep Knowledge of European archaeology with particular focus on Italian archaeology.

Fee info
EUR 2150: These fees will cover transports from and to the site, housing, meals, excavation, laboratory equipment, classroom lessons and staff costs. Any other expenses not specified among those covered by support fees, it is charged to the single participant.
