Basics of Composition

The topics of the course include: acquiring composition devices based on geometry architectonics derived from natural forms architectonics of material architectonics of form The course is divided into 4 stages:1) Elements of design %E2%80" line, shape, tone, form, depht, colour, texture, space2) Principles of organisation shape and proportion; positioning/orientation/balance/harmony among the elements; the area within the field of view used for the picture %E2%80%9Ccropping%E2%80%9D; the path or direction followed by the viewer%E2%80%99s eye when they observe the image3) Comositional techniques %E2%80" rule of thirds, rule of odds, rule of space, simplification, geometry and symmetry, creating movement, other techniques4) Final compositionIn each segment of the course there will be some theory lessons to formulate enjoyable exercises where the students can make artistic images and three dimensional structures, both at the university and at home. The aim of the course is to create compositions and structures based on the symbiosis of aesthetically enjoyable elements and to create new artistic images not present in nature and to depict them in a simplified way.

The course is for beginners. Previous skills in the field of study are not required.
Course aim
The course introduces the basic methods of composition and the possibilities how to show them planarly and spatially. The aim of the course is to create compositions and structures based on the symbiosis of aesthetically enjoyable elements and to create new artistic images not present in nature and to depict them in a simplified way.
