Whether one likes or not, the People%E2%80%99s Republic of China is becoming an economic and political powerhouse and the world%E2%80%99s second most powerful country after the United States. At the same time there are a lot of misconceptions and confusion about the real nature of Beijing%E2%80%99s political and economic system. If you are a student interested in finding out what the real China is and where it is headed in the near future.

Target group
Young academic professionals who are currently students of either undergraduate or graduate degrees in any relevant academic programmes.

Course aim
The summer school 'China: A World Superpower - Myth or Reality?' will deal with the interrelated phenomena of Chinese domestic politics & economy and Beijing's foreign policy and position in the current world order.Upon finishing the program, the students will ideally have gained a clear picture as to China's capabilities as well as weaknesses and should understand what is the "Beijing consensus", where the PRC is headed and what China's superpower ambitions will mean for other states, near and far alike.

Credits info
Our programs have full accreditation from the Czech Ministry of Education. If you wish to receive credits for attending a summer school, you need to negotiate the amount of credits with your university. In the past many students have counted our programs towards their degree.

Fee info
EUR 680: Early bird applications until January 31, 2015. EUR 750: Final application deadline is until April 30, 2015 for applicants who submit their applications after January 31, 2015.
