Our civilization is technology based. Its sustainability, economic development and growth are highly dependent on technological development and our ability to find good and better solutions for increasing number of problems. In order to maximize benefits from new and existing technologies our society is adapting its organizational form to the permanent changes of technology. In such a world, technology-intensive industries play an increasingly important role, innovation is key process for long-run economic growth, entrepreneurial thinking and creativity are crucial personal competences for success.This summer school aims to equip students with an understanding of the process of developing creative technology-based (engineering) ideas in global and intercultural context. It focuses on combinations of engineering and business creativity, design and co-creation methods that can help students as future engineers, entrepreneurs, managers and innovators to identify opportunities and generate concepts with and for others to foster valuable innovations. Generating an idea is an important and exciting process but only the top of the iceberg. Successful entrepreneurs and innovators must develop an idea into a promising opportunity through innovative thinking, market research, competitive analysis, and dynamic business modeling. Thus, students, organized in teams, will practice creative problem solving techniques, generate, evaluate and implement a novel business idea thereby gaining valuable entrepreneurial skills.The content is relevant for managing innovation, design and creativity in all kinds of organizations and useful in students' further work and careers.Upon completing the summer school, students should be able to:1. Describe some of the underlying principles of creativity from psychology and other disciplines.2. Understand the links among entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation and value creation.3. Understand team and group dynamics, what co-creation is, and become better %E2%80%9Cteam player%E2%80%9D4. Know how to foster creative and innovative groups.5. Apply different creativity and creative problem solving techniques6. Generate and develop innovative new venture / product ideas7.
