Design Thinking Summer School

During the first and second weeks of the course you will attend marketing and product design classes. The final week is where you will be immersed in a design project to test your new knowledge. On this course you will:%E2%80%A2 explore how to incorporate innovation in everyday business practices;%E2%80%A2 look at consumer behaviour and current marketing trends;%E2%80%A2 learn how to improve your project management and strategic leadership skills;%E2%80%A2 use effective presentations skills to communicate your ideas with confidence;%E2%80%A2 explore rapid concept generation techniques and examine how the design, problem solving and idea generation processes work;%E2%80%A2 be actively involved in studio design projects;%E2%80%A2 try drawing as a tool for improving your observation skills and as a way to analyse objects and systems, and learn why drawing is the communication tool favoured by creative people;%E2%80%A2 consider prototyping and sketch modelling to present your concepts;%E2%80%A2 hear how designers view their clients and customers, and how entrepreneurs can develop brand and logo awareness when setting up a new business; and%E2%80%A2 review case studies that will support your understanding of the creative process.Included in the course is an organised trip to London one Saturday to explore the design culture, museums and galleries of our exciting capital.

This course is led by tutors from the Nottingham Business School and our product design department.

Target group
This course is aimed at business and marketing students from the UK and around the world who wish to enhance their creativity by combining techniques from the design and marketing professions so that they generate new and innovative ideas and solutions.
