Learn to ask 'what if%E2%80%A6?'Innovation moves with the times. But products and services only enter the market after careful thought and development, which is a slow process. Innovative breakthroughs usually happen at 'the right place and the right time'. So a real innovator must have the ability to think ahead %E2%80" to time travel. Can you imagine how easy life would be if you could visualise the future and plan ahead? In this module you'll explore society and technology and how they work together. You'll use your imagination to predict the future to create innovative products and services.We will use scenario-planning methods and ask 'what if%E2%80%A6?'. Imagination, creativity and intuition are some of the most important tools for individuals, companies and even countries in our ever-changing world. You'll hear from inspirational guest speakers, lecturers from The Hague University of Applied Sciences, top-researchers and business professionals. Additionally you'll work on real-life scenarios through group projects and workshops. You'll leave armed with skills for future scenario and design research, sketching, visualization and prototyping. Students will also participate in the general module: Change & Innovation in the Public and Private Sectors.

Target group
The program is open to anyone who has completed their high school diploma (or equivalent) and has completed at least their first year bachelor degree level education. Applicants whose native tongue is not English, should have a good knowledge of the English language (Level B2 or higher). The Hague Summer School reserves the right to determine if applicants English language level is appropriate.

Course aim
The objectives of the course are:Recognise, describe and visualize the influence of sociological trends on defined target groups and identify their future needs.Create scenarios and idealistic visions with your own imagination with a clear view on the current sociological situation.Extend technological developments from the recent past into future developments.Design tangible solutions that fit your idealistic vision on the future and create realistic plans to attain these visionary goals.

Credits info
4 ECTS The Hague Summer School are assigned ECTS (European Credit Transfer System). The amount of credits for each course depends on whether you choose the two or four week program. The two week program is worth 4 ECTS. It consists of a general module worth 1 ECTS and an elective module worth 3 ECTS. The four week program is worth 8 ECTS. It contains two general modules worth 2 ECTS and two elective modules worth 6 ECTS. Detailed program descriptions and outlines will be provided to the students to facilitate the credit transfer.

EUR 1499: Two week programme of The Hague Summer School The 2 week course costs 1.499,- for the full package, including tuition fee, housing, and in-programme activities & lunch. EUR 2999: Four week program of The Hague Summer The 4 week course costs 2.999,- for the full package, including tuition fee , housing , and in-programme activities & lunch.
