Developing Mobile Concepts & User Interface

The main objective of this course is to introduce you the tools, principles and methods required for creating a good interface between users and mobile devices. The examples we use come from the Internet, and web technologies in particular.You are going to learn how to create a prototype of a solution quickly and also how to evaluate design alternatives. As a developer, you will need to understand your customer%C2%B4s need precisely, therefore course contains also a manual for performing fieldworks with customers. Last, but not least, students will improve their knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript to make apps, including the principles of perception and cognition to create effective interaction design.

Course aim
The student will get the skills to:Evaluate and apply the Human Computer Interaction (HCI) methods for mobile devicesUse prototyping tools for developing mobile applicationsDevelop apps with web technologies like HTML, CSS and JavascriptContent:Rapid prototypingEvaluation of design alternativesHow to perform fieldwork with potential users so they can possibly help with design ideas.How to make paper prototypes and mock-ups that are interactive and how to use these to get feedback from, for example, your teammates, customers and users.You will learn principles of visual design, so you can effectively organise and present information with your interface.You will learn the principles of perception and cognition that result in effective interaction design.Using web technologies HTML, CSS and Javascript to make apps.

Credits info
You will receive an official Certificate of Attendance upon completion of your course which you may use to show evidence of the skills you have learnt during the course and have the credits accepted by your home university.

Fee info
EUR 335: Course fee. Course fee does not include 50EUR Application fee for all registered after 15.5.2015.All courses take place in a new building of University of Split Library. EUR 340: Accommodation fee for a 14night stay at dormitory Spinut in Split (belongs to University of Split). Full board is just 10EUR/day. Everyday afternoon or evening activities organized - sports, weekend trips, parties etc.
