Discover (the) Dutch: Dutch Language and Culture

This is your chance to learn basic Dutch in the Netherlands. Working interactively in our state-of-the-art digital language lab, you develop reasonable speaking, listening, reading and writing skills and build a core vocabulary and a grounding in Dutch grammar. In the classroom you work with video, audio and computer tools %E2%80" to simulate telephone conversations, for example.

Target group
All international students interested in learning more about Dutch language, culture, history and society during their stay in Amsterdam.

Course aim
You learn Dutch to CEFR level A1, meaning that you can use some general expressions and form basic sentences. For example, you can introduce yourself, ask and respond to simple questions and order a drink.You gain an understanding of the Dutch and their culture in an international context.

Fee info
EUR 950: Includes orientation and course material. Does not include housing.

Scholarships
The Amsterdam Summer School offers twenty scholarships of 500 for highly motivated students. The deadline to apply for a scholarship is 1 April. Application for the scholarship is part of the general online application procedure.
