Doing Business in Europe ''International Communication''

The business schools of Hanze (UAS) offer the programme %E2%80%98Doing Business in Europe%E2%80%99. This first-class summer school experience takes you on a journey throughout the European world of business and communication. To supply you with the broadest range of information, the course provides you with general subjects to fairly specialized subjects, ranging across the full scope of international business. We also want to enrich the programme for our foreign guests with interesting parts of our culture and business excursions, which has turned us into the trading nation which we are. Last year, we visited for example Philips, Groningen SeaPorts, GasUnie and Beck's.

Target group
Students with a major in Business or Communication and professionals working in International Business or Communication.Admission Requirements:When you want to apply for the course there are certain admission requirements. These requirements concern your knowledge of the English language, as well as your educational background. For non native English speakers there is a required IELTS score of 6.0, but we prefer an 6.5. Next to that, we expect our students to follow/or have followed a business or communication study.

Course aim
This course has two aims. The first is to raise the students' awareness about the importance and the complexity of intercultural issues in international communication. The second aim is to practice useful skills to enable students to communicate successfully in different cultural environments. There will be exercises and reflection on concepts such culture shock, cultural values and intercultural competence. there will be training in professional communication skills from an intercultural perspective in areas such as consultancy, teamwork, conflict management and job application. Students will be become aware of their own cultural background and share their insights with the other students in exercises and presentations.
