English for Academic Purposes Summer Course - B2 or C1 Level

During this three-week intensive course, you will be prepared for academic use of English (listening, reading, and most notably writing and speaking). Attention will be paid to grammatical accuracy and complexity. The writing part also deals with the construction of paragraphs, different text structures, proper referencing of sources, and argumentation. You have to write an individual paper (or research report) on a topic of your choice.You will improve your speaking skills by means of discussions, debates and other assignments. You will also practice how to give an oral presentation including presentation techniques, rhetorical devices, pronunciation, and language practice.Between the two lectures, time is reserved for independent study during which you are required to work on assignments and language areas in which you feel you need more practice. This is an intensive course for which you should reserve at least 40 hours per week.This course is for students with a level of B1+/B2- or higher. During the first lesson, a placement test will be done to determine your starting level. Based on this test, you will be divided into 2 groups at different levels. Before signing up, please do the test at www.ef.co.uk/epis. Make a print-screen of your score (percentage) and upload this upon registration with the Summer School. If you score below 69%, this course is not appropriate for you.

Fee info
EUR 675: The course fee does not include any study materials. - 585 or 9 Language Vouchers for Tilburg Univeristy students. Students can pay with their language vouchers. Each voucher is worth 65, so if you do not have enough vouchers left, you can pay the remaining vouchers for 65 per voucher.- 615 for Tilburg University employees and alumni- 675 for external participants (including prospective students). For prospective students, it is possible to exchange language vouchers afterwards when you start studying at Tilburg University. Each voucher is worth 65, so you can get a maximum amount of 585 back. Tilburg University Summer School charges a fee of 70 per participant for the organization of the event. The course fee does not include accommodation. You have to arrange accommodation yourself. Tilburg University Summer School recommends you book a room with the housing company directly. If you wish to do so, you can indicate this during your registration.
