Ten yeas since its creation the European Union and Legal Reform Summer School brings to a selected group of outstanding participants a unique opportunity to analyse and debate the most contemporary issues in EU legal development.From the further enlargement to the exit of member states from the Union, from EU accession to the European Convention on Human Rights to multilevel protection of fundamental rights, from European ctizenship to the role fo the courts, this summer school will provide students with a profound understanding of the centrifugal and centripetal forces and processes influencing the EU today. The course activities consist of a set of lectures, roundtable discussions, and student presentations. Every year we also organize a boat trip and a visit to cultural sites. The coruse is held in Igalo, Montenegro, on the slopes of Mount Orjen. Participants will stay at the Hotel 'Simo Milosevic', located inside a Medical and Wellness Centre, a popular resort for tourists from the Balkan region.

Target group
The Summer School brings together students, scholars, young leaders and young legal practitioners from all the European area, including the Balkans, to study the constitutional implications of EU expansion. The course is open to final year students, graduate students and PhD candidates in Law and Political sciences coming from all the European area, including Central and Eastern European states. Applicants must have a good knowledge of English, a solid background knowledge in European Law and an understanding of the mechanisms of EU enlargement, particularly as applied to Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe.

Course aim
The Summer School provides a forum through which knowledge is exchanged, discussion is encouraged and young leaders work to improve the legal environment of Central and Eastern Europe and to smooth the process of accession to the EU.

Fee info
EUR 600: The fee covers tuition, accommodation and food for the duration of the course.
