Exploring Mind and Body Through Yoga

This module runs in both sessions: June 13 - July 4, and July 4 - July 25. Yoga is the study and practice of various techniques that foster health and wellbeing. The practice of yoga is about joining or bringing together different entities such as the body, breath and mind. Originating in the east, yoga has expanded in the west and has come to be recognised as a means of promoting health, fitness, deep relaxation and a calm mind and breath.

Students with an IELTS score of 6.0 or higherMinimum age: 18
Course aim
This module aims to provide an introduction to the theoretical and conceptual framework for exploring the physical, mental, spiritual and social dimensions of yoga. Students are given the opportunity to personally experience the effects of yoga postures, breathing, relaxation and meditation techniques. The principles underlying the practices of yoga are considered and students are encouraged to develop an awareness of safety in their practice.

7.5 ECTS Each Summer School module is worth 15 UK credits. Official Transcripts are provided at the end of the course.
