Fashion accessories are an integral part of all of our lives. From practical accessories to status symbol pieces, Luxury goods to street wear. By the end of the two weeks, you will understand the world of fashion accessories: history, actors, challenges, creativity and products. You will compare the positioning of the two major world capitals of fashion and explore the creative process and know-hows.LondonThis course looks at the unique design and craftsmanship that goes into the more conceptual accessory. London is renowned for its unique design and street wear. A study of historical body adornment and unique street trends and fashion form a base knowledge to understand the accessory design process. Materials used in the production of bags, shoes and a board range of unique designs will be explored along with the artists and designers that create them.This course will give you an understanding of the accessory design process. You will be given a beginners guide to trend research, accessory design, accessory fabrics and construction. If you are excited by unique design like the Alexander McQueen Alien shoe or bespoke customised street wear this course will unravel the craftsmanship and inspiration behind the design.ParisIn Paris, the program will focus on accessories in the world of luxury. This course will analyze development strategies of accessories in fashion and luxury brands.You will explore the vast world of fashion accessories (leather goods, shoes, glasses, scarves ...) and their strategic position within collections. If you want understand how Kelly Bag became an iconic product and which are the iconic product of the future. The program will alternate lectures from experts, store and studio visits, workshops, meetings with professionals.
