The objective of this course is to introduce students to design principles and creative standards in apparel design. In NYC the focus will be on concepts, research, and visual presentations. In London students will learn about fashion construction, pattern cutting, draping and sewing. New YorkLearn and practice the various methods and principles for designing fashion that will help you achieve successful results. Learn to source and use inspirations, find out how fabric and color strengthen a designer%E2%80%99s viewpoint, and develop methods for creating dynamic fabric stories that form well merchandised groups - all which help you to refine your vision as a fashion designer. Find out what you need to be prepared for the professional world, including putting together a portfolio, writing a CV and perfecting your interview techniques.LondonVintage garments are a source of great inspiration to fashion designers. This course is aimed at students who want to discover the process behind fashion design. Some knowledge of sewing is beneficial.The 20th Century can be said to mark the beginning of modern fashion. Women were freed from the tyranny of corsets, layers and layers of long skirted clothes and the daily ritual of dressing long hair. By the 1920's, hair was bobbed, dresses short, underwear soft and feminine, and the party began. Each following decade moved on, and had a distinct look of its own.
