Fashion Trend Spotting in Europe

Fashion trends aren't about what you see in shops today, by then the trends are almost over. You need to find out what is up and coming before anyone else to be at the forefront of fashion whether you are a designer, product buyer or simply a consumer. The course addresses the questions: what's new, how does it happen, what's it all about?
Course leader
Carol Morgan trained in textiles and is a senior lecturer on the BA Fashion Communication and Promotion course at Central Saint Martins. She is a global trend tracker and fashion marketer, identifying what effects design and fashion around the world. A
Target group
This course is suitable for people who want an in-depth insight into trend spotting either to inform their own designs or to receive an introduction to the field as a potential career.
Course aim
At the end of the course students will produce a project demonstrating the research method and concept development skills acquired throughout the course. Students will be required to present their trend study through storyboards created in Power Point and Photoshop. The storyboard will include the following items: mood, concept, consumer boards, innovation, materials, trends.
