The summer school focuses on the protection of fundamental rights in the European Union and the system of the European Convention on Human Rights. You will be led through various topics by lecturers from both the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights, top European universities and legal practice.The programme consists of a general course and a specialization course, guest lectures, discussion panel and a moot court. The general course on Fundamental Rights in Europe will be taught by Xavier Groussot (EU part) and Eduardo Gill-Pedro (ECHR part), both from Lund University. The specialization course presented by Laura Lynskey from London School of Economics and Political Science will focus on the Right to Privacy in a Digital Age.The distinguished lectures will be given by Sacha Prechal, Judge of the ECJ, and Andr%C3%A1s Saj%C3%B3, Judge of the ECHR. Guest lectures will be given amongst others by Barbara Havelkov%C3%A1 (Oxford University), Jan Kom%C3%A1rek (LSE) and Daniel Sarmiento (University Complutense of Madrid). At the moment, we are waiting for confirmation from other addressed lecturers.There is also a non-academic dimension of this summer school: you are invited to participate in various trips and sports, to use the wellness equipment of the chalet (sauna, whirlpool) and to enjoy the free evenings, getting to know your fellow students and the lecturers.
