GEM - Green Energy Management

After a broad overview of green energy development in the world and in Europe, energy production from renewables, environmental markets (CO2- EUAs certificates), water demand management and forestry management will be introduced. Leading scientists from Europe and industrial and institutional partners will be part of the teaching staff, bringing their experiences. Visits to research laboratories will also be organized. Over the weekend, students will visit renewable energy production plants (hydroelectric, photovoltaic or eolic) in Lombardia (in the first edition 2014: Hydroelectric Plant Bertini %E2%80" Porto d%E2%80%99Adda).

Course aim
The aim of GEM (Green Energy Management) Summer School is to provide international students with a context sensitive first-class training in the field of Green Energy Management and renewable resources. TOPICS COVERED: The World Green Energy Scenario; EU-ETS emission market; Evaluation of energy projects; Photovoltaic Energy; Power distribution with RES generation and storage; Modelling wind and sun; Water Management; Electricity Markets; Hydrogen energy in transportation in Portugal; Renewable resources: the Spain experience.
