Governance Now and Tomorrow
calendar_month 29 Iul 2015, 00:00
Governing a global cultureTechnical, environmental and social changes influence the way our governments and organisations work. At the same time society is having more of a say in how they are run. But as we become more globalised and societies get increasingly complex, how do we govern them? In this module students will learn about trends that are transforming the world and the consequences this has for governance. This elective module is taught by academics from The Hague University of Applied Sciences with help from practitioners at national and international government bodies and NGOs. The first week of the module focuses on global trends, such as the rise of the southern hemisphere, American super-brands and the global influence of ICT.Week two delves deeper into the governance implications of these trends, focusing on global governance, the European Union, our global cities and consumer governance. Lectures take place in the mornings with time for discussions and presentations in the afternoon.Students also participate in a general module: Global and European Trends in the Publica and Private sectors which will serve as a base module.
