Develop an understanding of interior design practices and explore furnishing and materials to style your design ideas.Through practical projects and tutorials, you will develop an understanding of the design process and the importance of an ideas-based approach, enhancing your awareness of key aspects of interior design including colour, shape, form, pattern and texture, fabric, finishes and presentation.Developing your own ideas through initial sketches, inspiration sessions, mood boards, research and analysis you will also study existing interior spaces, exploring spatial planning, the function of a space and learn how to draw to scale.Our tutors will show you how to take your interior ideas from concept through to design presentation, whilst considering space and light, as well as how to effectively use texture and pattern through a series of practical experimental sessions using textiles and materials to style your personal design approach.

Target group
AUB Summer Courses are open to all those aged 17 or over at the time of taking the course. Our summer courses are attended by school leavers, university students and creative professionals wishing to learn new creative skills, enhance their current studies or change careers.

Credits info
You will receive an official AUB Certificate of Attendance on the completion of your course which you may use to show evidence of the skills you have learnt during the course.

Fee info
GBP 1550: Please note our course fee includes all materials used within the course, teaching costs, plus admission fees for any day trips or study excursions that take place as part of your course. GBP 450: For those who require it, accommodation is available to Summer students in our Halls of Residence at 150.00 per week.
