International Crime Fiction: Lecture Series
calendar_month 29 Iul 2015, 00:00
This course addresses the use of crime as a model for contemporary narrative fiction and has two main objectives: to introduce crime fiction from around the world that may be little known outside its country of origin; and to illustrate how contemporary crime fiction has moved away from a focus on solving mysteries and towards exposing social injustice such as racial and sexual discrimination, poverty and corruption.Given the mainstream interest in crime fiction, crime films and detective series, this course offers participants the chance to learn more about the crime as a writing style.
