Study Europe and the European Union from the vantage point of one of Germany's most prestigious universities! The short-term programmes "International & European Studies" (IES) at the University of T%C3%BCbingen offer international students from all over the world seminars taught in English by renowned T%C3%BCbingen researchers on topics such as the history of the European Union and its institutions, media cultures in a globalised world or doing business in Europe, as well as courses on German language and culture. Successful completion of the academic programme will be rewarded with an "IES Certificate" and ECTS credits. This challenging academic programme is complemented by excursions to Strasbourg, Berlin and Frankfurt, including tours of the European Parliament, interviews with EU politicians, and visits to and possible internships at influential companies in the economically strong region of Baden-W%C3%BCrttemberg.The development of intercultural competence, one of the key qualifications in an increasingly globalised world, constitutes a main goal of the programme. Workshops in which students can reflect on their intercultural experience in Germany as well as our "Buddy Programme" (one German "buddy" teams up with one international student) support the development of the participants' intercultural sensitivity and competence. Effective and individual learning is a great strength of the programme: classes are small and our teachers/lecturers serve as academic and cultural mentors throughout the programme.T%C3%BCbingen is the ideal location for this small and highly effective academic programme: this picturesque, safe university town with its many labyrinthine alleys and its romantic old town offers you multiple opportunities to experience German culture in pubs, caf%C3%A9s, lectures or on one of its famous punting boats ("Stocherkahn"). Come to T%C3%BCbingen and experience Germany, Europe and the world - all in one!
