Music Composition - Compose, Rehearse & Perform

The Freie Universit%C3%A4t Berlin offers a summer composition course taught by Samuel Adler of the Juilliard School lasting six weeks. Up to 14 students studying at a university or college will be accepted to the program. The course will consist of at least one private composition lesson per week taught by Professor Samuel Adler plus one three hour master class taught by other professional composers. Each student will be matched with one or more performer(s), and write a work for them. The composition will be performed at a final concert during the last week of classes in Berlin. In addition, students have the opportunity to take a class in conducting. Dr. Emily Freeman Brown will teach this class. She is the Music Director and Conductor of the Bowling Green Philharmonia and Opera Theater at Bowling Green State University in Ohio (optional at extra cost). FUBiS is a fully accredited institution, permitting transfer of credits to participants%E2%80%99 home institutions (Composition Course: 6 ECTS credits).
