Biodiversity in today%E2%80%99s ecosystems as well as in ancient environments million of years ago is the focus of research for many scientists within the broad field of bio- and geosciences at the Goethe University of Frankfurt. The knowledge of numerous organisms is still limited including their evolution and ecology, as well as their significance in the field of paleoclimatology and paleoceanography. Modern methods such as DNA analysis and modeling give new insights into biodiversity and processes that take place over large scales in space and time and enable us to reconstruct the past environment. We are looking forward to teaching and sharing our knowledge on various subjects including:%E2%80%A2%09How fungi can help to save the world! Integrative research on diversity, systematics and applied aspects of fungi%E2%80%A2%09Biodiversity in time and space: paleoceanography and paleoclimatology%E2%80%A2%09Biodiversity in freshwater ecosystems for assessment of anthropogenic impacts%E2%80%A2%09Man and the biosphere in the past and the presentBiodiversity in today%E2%80%99s ecosystems as well as in ancient environments million of years ago is the focus of research for many scientists within the broad field of bio- and geosciences at the Goethe University of Frankfurt. The knowledge of numerous organisms is still limited including their evolution and ecology, as well as their significance in the field of paleoclimatology and paleoceanography.
