The course covers the basic aspects of plasma physics, high power lasers and nuclear fusion. It is an introduction to plasma physics at a master level (2nd cycle) complemented by an overview of general topics in Nuclear Fusion, Intense Lasers and Plasma Technology, where students will have a chance to contact a wide range of interesting and cutting-edge topics for their future PhD studies.This year (2015) PlasmaSurf as a Special Edition devoted to the INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF LIGHT.

Target group
Plasmasurf is tailored for engineering and physics students aiming at complementing their education in Plasma Physics with the purpose of pursuing academic studies at the third cycle level (Ph.D). You should have fully completed a Bologna First Cycle and being engaged in a 2nd cycle master, with a total of 200 ECTS already granted in your full academic track.
Course aim
The course is intended to promote a lively interaction among students and lecturers between sessions, giving a broad overview of plasma science and engineering. The main goal is to help students to decide if they want to pursue studies in this area in addition to the general education in plasma physics.
