The Course consists of two 1,5 hour lectures daily for 10 days. Students are asked to submit an essay on the population issues concerning Greece and the greater area of the Eastern Mediterranean. These essays are presented in the last day of the summer school and are evaluated by the academic staff of the school. Up to the point research essays will be selected for further analysis and publication to academic journals. Courses are taught in Greek but the essays and their presentation can be in English as well.

Target group
Participants are expected to hold a university degree (or to be in the last year of their studies) from a recognized university from any part of the world. They are expected to have at least basic knowledge of the Greek language and to speak fluent English.

Course aim
The course aims to study the population issues that have emerged in the area of the Eastern Mediterranean during the last decades and which (issues) bear heavy burden in any policy-making decision made by central government, local authority units and private businesses alike. EUR 0: For students from countries other than Greece there is no fees for the attendance of the summer school. If they complete the course successfully, they will be given a certificate of attendance issued by the University of the Aegean. Travel and accommodation are not provided by the summer school.
