Safety and Security
calendar_month 29 Iul 2015, 00:00
Make the world a safer placeWe depend on our governments for safety and security, but in the current global climate, governments can't establish and maintain a safe and secure society alone. Local government, NGOs, private organisations and citizens must now work together to make our world a safe and secure place. In the morning you will be participating in a general module focussing on Global and European Trends in the Public and Private sectors. This is followed with the module Security and Society. In this module we'll focus on safety and security in businesses, neighborhoods and on a country scale. We'll study risk management during festivals and other high profile events. You'll analyse the stakeholders' psychology and look at the networks needed to maintain a safe and secure environment. Our digital world brings a whole new level of risk and the need for 'cyber security'. We spend hours chatting, searching and shopping online. But this information flow is vulnerable. Hackers can access and steal private and business information. This module looks at protecting networks and helping organisations safeguard their sensitive data. We'll focus on the human and organisational elements of preventing cyber crime. After the module, you'll have a feel for mapping risks for organisations and will be able to analyse the risks in a changing environment. You'll hear from inspirational guest lecturers from businesses and public organisations and The Hague University of Applied Sciences and explore real-life situations through group projects, case studies and virtual games.
