Welcome to the homepage of the UCSIA Summer School on religion, culture and society. With this summer school UCSIA wants to continuethe valuable academic reflection it started in 2003 with its summerseminars on inter-religious and intercultural dialogue and onfaith-based radicalism. It is evident that religion, culture and society are strongly interwoven and are crucial for understanding the contemporary world.
This annual summer school wants to learn and reflect on this interconnection and offers young scholars and PhDstudents the opportunity to attend lectures of establishedresearchers, to present their own work and discuss their ideas in a
relaxed and open atmosphere and within a multidisciplinary framework.
The Summer School is a one-week course hold in early September, inAntwerp, Belgium. The first edition takes place from the 2nd until the9th of September 2007. The completed application form and other required application documents must be submitted to the UCSIASelection Committee not later than Sunday April 15th 2007.
