The expected learning outcomes of the course are participants to:%E2%80%A2 Recognize the characteristics and limits of social economy, as a third economic sector, whose primary purpose is common good, producing positive social results.%E2%80%A2 Distinguish the quality elements which define private and public investments as social and understand how investments can produce positive effects on employment and social cohesion.%E2%80%A2 Familiarize with the idea, practices and challenges of social evaluation and measuring social impact, both methodologicallyas well as factors facilitating economic reliability and investment preference through initiatives from the social economy.%E2%80%A2 Be aware of the latest developments regarding public administration and market economy, as they are formed by the European Union and particularly the European Commission's initiatives, the G8 and OECD in the course thematic area.%E2%80%A2 Cooperate with distinguished academics, researchers, experts of the European Commission and senior government officials,enhancing their professionalism and acquire practical policy design knowledge as well as problem solving techniques which combine financial, social and managerial challenges.The structure and material of the Coursewere designed in a way of optimally combining a vertical training with participatory knowledge production, especially through targeted workshops and virtual design of portfolio policy and planning management, including virtual crisis management in an existing society which suffers from great depression and non-manageable levels of unemployment and disinvestment.

Target group
This course is intended for educators that want to familiarise or get involved with Social Economy enterprises and investments. Social entrepreneurs, local business actors, educated youngsters who wish to gain knowledge on organising a Social nterprise. Also, PhD, MSc and undergraduate students (of every field) are also welcome to attend this course.

Course aim
The aim of this course is to provide scientific knowledge and strengthen administrative capacity of participants in an interdisciplinary field of interest with an emphasis on social investments in the social economy sector. The EU and in particular countries in deep recession and strict fiscal adjustment programs seeking ways of public and private investments with a visible and measurable positive effect on employment and social cohesion. The social economy sector is the rising third sector between the public and the business and its contribution in the quality of employment and family income is well documented - especially when it comes to persons belonging to vulnerable social groups.Distinguished academics, lecturers, experts from the European Commission and senior public sector executives offer a broad and interdisciplinary cover of this emerging field.
