But what patterns does it follow? And how and why do they arise? Environmental criminology is the broad field dedicated to answering that kind of question.

Course aim
You can formulate research questions and hypotheses regarding the spatial patterning of crime problems.You can collect spatially referenced crime and disorder data.You can use geographic information systems to map and analyse that data.You can acquire knowledge on open-source QGIS software.You can present research findings.

No ECTS. Certificate of participation issued upon completion.Contact hours: six full course days.

EUR 950: Includes orientation and course material. Does not include housing.

Scholarships
The Amsterdam Summer School offers twenty scholarships of 500 for highly motivated students. The deadline to apply for a scholarship is 1 April. Application for the scholarship is part of the general online application procedure.
